Research interests
I graduated with honors in Biological Sciences in 1983 and started to carry out research in aquariology at the Public Aquarium of the Stazione Zoologica of Naples (SZN). I worked as Assistant Curator, performing technical-scientific work in the public Aquarium of the SZN from 1989 to 1995. In 1995, I managed the development and organization of a Facility for the breeding of marine animals of scientific interest, thereby creating a service for the management of marine animal models (breeding and maintenance). Since 2000 I worked as a Senior Technologist at the Marine Resources for Research Service (MaReR) of SZN. From 2010 to 2015 I have been Coordinator of MaReR.
Application fields:
- Study and development of experimental protocols for the maintenance and breeding of marine animals under controlled conditions.
- Protocols and technologies applied to the management of closed- and semi-closed systems for the maintenance of marine organisms.
- Planning of pilot systems for the breeding and maintenance of marine organisms.
