Short CV
I obtained a master’s degree in veterinary medicine and a postgraduate specialisation in the breeding, hygiene, and pathology of aquatic species, as well as the control of derived products, from the University of Messina. I subsequently qualified as a veterinary surgeon.
I collaborated with the “A. Mirri” IZS of Sicily on a project studying protocols for identifying sources of Anisakis spp. contamination and infestation in farmed fish species in Sicily.
I currently work as a research technician at the “Calabria Marine Centre” in Amendolara as part of the “CRIMAC” project.
Tasks
- Technical and scientific support for research activities.
- Maintenance, management and optimisation of technical and scientific equipment.
- Support for experimental activities to ensure the correct application of animal welfare regulations, veterinary protocols and biosecurity measures.
- Health monitoring and welfare management of aquatic organisms in a controlled environment.
- Scientific dissemination activities and technical support for research projects and public meetings.
