Research Interests

Development of innovative methods for the maintenance and continued reproduction in large quantities of the seahorse, H. hippocampus, in a confined environment and subsequent release into nature.
Evaluation of different farming techniques and technologies: types of diet (quality and frequency in the different stages of development); sex ratio; identification of animal welfare criteria compatible with the release of individuals; possible identification of non-invasive individual marking procedures that allow the application of correct post-release monitoring techniques in the event of stock-enhancement; reintroduction bounty; release sites.
