Description:

This course aims at introducing the students to the relatively new field of ecological evolutionary developmental biology (eco-evo-devo) that integrates the research from developmental biology and ecology into evolutionary theory. The course will present a historical perspective and the most recent advances in the evo-devo theory and practice, with particular focus on the experimental work made in the last decade on marine invertebrate animals. Key and emerging concepts and a case study within eco-evo-devo will be also discussed.
