| Description |
The bioinformatics service starts with the funding of the BIOINforMA project (Bioinformatics for Marine Biology), a Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn flagship project aimed at the creation of a bioinformatics service for internal activities but also as support for external requests. The main purpose of the service is the design and development of advanced and innovative methodologies for the analysis, storage and integration of biological data, thus supporting the research based on “omics” technologies. Moreover, the service offers support for the management and the maintenance of hardware resources for high performance computing (HPC). |

In Progress
The Historical Archive of the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn (ASZN) preserves the administrative and scientific records of the Institute, serving as its cultural memory.
Established in 1969 and officially recognized in 1995, the ASZN holds correspondence, general affairs registers, copybooks, manuscripts, offprints, photographs, films, drawings, and other records documenting the Institute’s history.

ASZN oversees the management and promotion of its holdings, ensuring proper preservation and access for research, educational, and cultural purposes. As part of a Public Research Institution, ASZN is governed by the Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape (Legislative Decree no. 42 of 22 January 2004) and is supervised by the Ministry of Culture – Archival and Bibliographic Superintendency for Campania.
ASZN is located in the Stazione Zoologica building, within the Villa Comunale of Naples. It is open Monday to Friday by appointment with the archivist.
Public services, available on-site or remotely: archival research, consultation, reproductions, publication permissions, and loans — the latter reserved for institutions. Some services may be subject to specific restrictions. Access is limited to adult scholars pursuing the Institute’s institutional aims, for non-commercial purposes.
The ASZN collections are valuable sources for the history of science and biology. In addition to providing users with assistance, guidance, and supporting documentation for their research, ASZN fosters collaborations in the history of science by taking part in research projects, publications, conferences, workshops, and exhibitions.
