Functions / Activities
Since 2022 I have managed the Historical Archive of the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn (ASZN), after being selected through a public procedure for experts in cultural heritage management and conservation.
In 2024 I qualified as an Archivist with the grade of “Distinto” / Excellent from the Central State Archive in Rome, upon completion of the Advanced Training Course in Contemporary Archival Science, accredited by the Italian Ministry of Culture.
I am primarily responsible for managing researcher and public enquiries via the institutional account This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., overseeing document retrieval, archival research, consultation, reproduction, publication permissions, and loans. Additional activities include updating inventories and finding aids, the reorganization of archival records, database administration and cataloguing software management, environmental monitoring, preventive conservation, and liaison with ANAI, the Italian Association of Archivists. I supervise academic internships under agreements with universities and promote the valorization of the collections through projects, publications, conferences, workshops, and exhibitions.
My research interests focus on the scientific memory of the Stazione Zoologica, with particular attention to the history of marine fauna in the Gulf of Naples, historical ecology, natural history museology, and marine biology.
