Research Interests
Marine ecology researcher with a strong interest in the effects of anthropogenic impacts—such as pollution, overfishing, and climate change—on marine ecosystems. I obtained a PhD focused on the occurrence, distribution, and characterization of microplastics in fish species, investigating contamination dynamics and the ecological implications of marine pollution.
In recent years, my work has focused on the conservation of hard-bottom coastal ecosystems affected by climate change and overfishing, with particular attention to the role of Marine Protected Areas as socio-ecological laboratories. I integrate scientific approaches with actions inspired by Nature-Based Solutions and Ocean Literacy principles, promoting small-scale fisheries and supporting educational and outreach activities on marine biodiversity and resources.
Tasks
Collection and processing of ecological field data, design of experimental frameworks, statistical data analysis, and preparation of scientific publications and technical reports.
